Two big teams should not present their 2025 separately

Two big teams should not present their F1 2025 separately

For years, the ritual of the off-season has been imperturbable in Formula 1: the period between the last Grand Prix of the previous season and the first GP of the following season is invariably occupied by teasers of the single-seaters (starting noise, pieces of delivered, etc.) before the proper presentations of the stables, then the winter tests.

However, the 2024-2025 off-season is different because the premier discipline has decided, as part of the 75th anniversary of the world championship, to force the hand of the teams somewhat by organizing a global and joint presentation of the liveries for the upcoming campaign. . This event, which will be held on February 18 in London, in the O2 Arena, inevitably shakes up habits and some people have apparently chosen to adapt to it by abandoning their traditional individual presentation.

If we already know that Williams (on February 14) and Ferrari (on the 19th, the day after the joint event) will, as usual, unveil their single-seater to the world as part of a separate event, it should not be the same for two big teams on the grid.

Red Bull, in the first place, decided according to information from Motorsport.com to skip an individual presentation. Last year, the Austrian team went all out on this event to mark its 20th season in the premier discipline, in a presentation which was held in the context of the Horner affair and which allowed us to see in part the RB20. However, the possibility of a shakedown day at Silverstone for the RB21 cannot be ruled out, even if it is quite unlikely that the team will release images of it.

Mercedes, in second place, should also give up its usual program. Having been in practice for many years now, the reveal of the single-seaters from the Brackley team is often carried out in two stages on the same day, organized on the Silverstone circuit: first with the presentation of studio photos of the car, before before she is seen on the track later at the end of her first shakedown.

A priori, as for Red Bull, the London presentation will serve as the first (and only) highlight before departure for Sakhir and, according to information from Motorsport.comMercedes should only run the W16 for the first time on February 25, in Bahrain, the day before the winter tests (February 26-28).

With this unprecedented off-season, the two teams should therefore take the opportunity to stretch the development work as far as possible before these tests then the departure for Melbourne, where the first GP of the season will be held (from March 14 to 16). At the same time, Aston Martin is expected to fall into the camp of the teams which will present their 2025 single-seater separately.
