A ceremony and announcements. This Saturday January 11 was held at the Montauban fire station, the traditional Saint Barbara ceremonychaired by Michel Weillpresident of the Departmental Council of Tarn-et-Garonne and of the Board of Directors of the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service of Tarn-et-Garonne (SDIS 82).
A hundred firefighters honored
Alongside the general secretary of the Tarn-et-Garonne prefecture Edwige Darracq and the director of SDIS 82 Olivier Théronthe Tarn-et-Garonnais elected official had the pleasure ofhonoraryfor their commitment, “151 firefighters, including 81 volunteers and 37 women“, indicated the Department.
In 2024, they achieved more than 6,300 interventions and cumulative 173,166 hours of availability“, rejoiced Michel Weill during his speech.
Full support from the Department for firefighters
If this ceremony made it possible to bring to light all the work carried out by the firefighters last year, it was also an opportunity, for the president of the Department, to “reaffirm its full support despite a constrained budgetary context“. So, he took the time to make several announcements, such as:
- a increase of 2.5% of the annual contribution
- 250.000 euros special endowment
- construction of a “3S” platform and renewal of vehicle fleet
- launch of work on the future Corbarieu barracks
Sainte-Barbe, also celebrated in Beaumont-de-Lomagne
This Saturday, the firefighters from the Beaumont-de-Lomagne barracks also celebrated Sainte-Barbe, in the presence of Cathie Bourdoncle-Larnaudievice-president of the Department andAnne Jusdepartmental advisor.
This meeting was an opportunity for elected officials to “greet the staff who watch over the safety of residents, day and night.
As a reminder, in 2024, the firefighters of the Beaumont barracks carried out nearly 500 interventions and cumulative 95,715 hours of availability.
