The results from Grenoble swung the vote. Six months after the legislative elections, there is a repeat for the first constituency of Isère. After the resignation of rebellious elected official Hugo Prevost, accused last October of sexist and sexual assault, the first round of voting in these partial legislative elections was held this Sunday, January 12.
Under the rainbow banner of the New Popular Front, Lyes Louffok. The one who was a candidate in Val-de-Marne last July came first with 29% of the votes. In Grenoble in particular, he gets 41 points. Originally, the candidate for Matignon Lucie Castets had considered running in this constituency, to finally give way to Amandine Germain, a socialist elected official, who also gave up in favor of the child rights activist.
For the second round, Lyes Louffok and his deputy Claire Nguyen wish to send “a strong message to Emmanuel Macron: it is time for the social and environmental damage to stop. The mobilization continues,” writes the thirty-year-old rebel on X.
Behind him, in the ranks of the Macronists, Camille Galliard-Minier is qualified with 27%. The former deputy of Olivier Véran, who had already replaced him in the National Assembly when he was in government, will thus find himself facing the NFP candidate for the second round. “We are in a country which seeks stability and dialogue, she told journalists as soon as the results were announced. I will be facing the candidate from France Insoumise, a party which is part of a process of permanent destabilization. »
Other political parties are far behind. However, coming second in several of the towns near the capital of the Alps, Nathalie Béranger (Les Républicains) finds herself in third position with 16%. The coalition of the National Rally and the Union of Rights for the Republic followed: Alexandre Lacroix obtained 11% of the votes. The Équinoxe group and the Divers Center both come in at 7%.
At the constituency level, total participation is low, which is expected for a by-election. It stands at 35.86% for this first round, compared to 75.86% last June.
