BMW wins the 24 Hours of Dubai

The #777 AlManar Racing by Team WRT BMW M4 GT3 EVO co-driven by Al Faisal Al Zubair, Darren Leung, Max Hesse, Ben Tuck and Dan Harper won the 24 Hours of Dubai this Sunday after a race largely dominated by the Vincent Vosse’s team, which won its fourth victory in the event.

The German manufacturers monopolized the first places since the propeller-driven car from the firm beat two Porsche 911 GT3 R: the no. 92 of Pure Rxcing (Aliaksandr Malykhin, Alexey Nesov, Thomas Preining, Harry King) and the no. 24 of Dinamic GT (Stanislav Minsky, Klaus Bachler, Loek Hartog, Anders Fjordbach, Thomas Kiefer).

The #7 SMP Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO finished just off the podium with two former Formula 1 drivers in its crew: Sergey Sirotkin and Vitaliy Petrov. The two Russians were accompanied by their compatriots Denis Remenyako, Alexander Smolyar and Kirill Smal.

Distinguished guest on this event, Kalle Rovenperä, associated with Jukka Honkavuori, Jani Käkelä, Joel Monegro and Bashar Mardini in the No. 969 Porsche 911 GT3 R from the Proton Huber Competition team, finished 17th place. The Filandais and his teammates took 5th place in the Pro-Am category won by the No. 991 Paradine Competition BMW M4 GT3 EVO driven by Darren Leung (double winner this Sunday since he also drove the No. 777), Toby Sowery, Ahmad Al Harthy and Simon Traves.
