Max Verstappen could soon say goodbye to F1

The day when Max Verstappen turns the page on already seems to be on the horizon, guided by a balance that he considers essential to live fully.

Max Verstappen, four-time Formula 1 world champion, continues to remain unclear about the length of his career in the premier discipline of motorsport. Unlike legends like Lewis Hamilton or Fernando Alonso, the Red Bull driver does not seem to envisage such a long career.

However, he remains focused on the present while recognizing the growing importance of his family in his priorities.

A pragmatic and calm approach

Verstappen says he is fully satisfied with his current career in F1, but he prefers not to anticipate his future too much.

“I love what I do and I have a contract until 2028. Beyond that, I prefer not to think about it for the moment. A lot of things can change, but I am very happy with my current situation” he confides to the official F1 website.

This ability to not project too far goes back to his childhood. Max explains that he often annoyed his father, Jos Verstappen, with his “we’ll see” mantra.

“It keeps me calm and focused. I don’t want to mentally overload myself with unnecessary thoughts.”
he declares.

Finding the balance between F1 and personal life

Today, Verstappen is looking to establish a better balance between his F1 career and his personal life, especially as he prepares to become a father: “When I'm at home, I don't think about F1 unless I have to go to the factory. It's crucial to know how to disconnect so as not to get mentally exhausted.”

To distract himself, he indulges in simulation racing, an activity he takes very seriously: “It’s a great way to stay involved while being away from the pressure of the racetrack.”

The future: family, passions and new challenges

Despite his impressive successes, Verstappen reiterates that family and personal life will ultimately come before F1.

“Since I was four years old, my family has been dedicated to my journey to F1. At some point we have to return the favor. Spending time with them is far more important than any world title.” he reveals.

While some imagine Verstappen aiming for eight world titles, he qualifies this ambition: “It would be incredible, but it's not a necessity for me. I love competing, but at some point you have to know when to stop and enjoy life and those you love.”

Maximize your life beyond the circuits

For Verstappen, there is more to life than F1. He aspires to explore other horizons and take full advantage of his time on Earth: “There are so many things I want to do outside of racing. F1 is an extraordinary adventure, but family and the moments shared with those close to me are priceless.”

In the meantime, the Dutchman continues to shine on the circuits, with the same passion and dedication. But the day when he turns the page already seems to be on the horizon, guided by a balance that he considers essential to live fully.
