Thanks to Jokic, the Nuggets win in overtime
Three matches were scheduled last night in the NBA. Fifth in the Western Conference, the Nuggets won with difficulty against the Pelicans (129-132, ap). Indeed, the 2023 NBA champions needed to go into overtime to finally win. The evening was not easy for Denver who trailed the bottom of the Western Conference by 17 points in the third quarter (91-74). For his part, Serbian Nikola Jokic took time to get the machine going in the first quarter before finally standing out with a triple double: 27 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists. Russell Westbrook (21 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists) and Jamal Murray (27 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists) also guided their team to the path of success.
The Rockets continue
Two days after dominating the Pelicans (133-113), the Rockets won again on Sunday evening against the Raptors (110-114). Thanks to this second consecutive victory, Houston is third in the Western Conference behind Oklahoma City and Memphis. Dillon Brooks (27 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists), Jalen Green (22 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists) and Alperen Sengün, author of a double double (17 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists) were valuable on the Toronto floor.
Four in a row for the Pacers
Recently winners of the 76ers (121-107), the Pelicans (119-107) and the Suns (120-111), the Pacers scored a fourth victory last night on the floor of Sacramento (95-122), which remained on three consecutive defeats (including two against the Lakers). Despite the very good performances of Domantas Sabonis (17 points, 21 rebounds and 4 assists) and De'Aaron Fox (23 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists), the Kings were too fair to compete against the Pacers . As for Rick Carlisle's players, seven players passed the ten-point mark: Pascal Siakam (19 pts), Myles Turner (15 pts), Tyrese Haliburton (14 pts), Andrew Nembhard (12 pts), TJ McConnell (12 pts), Obi Toppin (11 pts) and Ben Sheppard (14 pts). With this fourth victory in a row, the Pacers occupy eighth place in the Eastern Conference.
