Formula 1 | Pérez: The engine sent too much power then I lost it

Sergio Pérez appeared to be heading for a top-five result at the Qatar Grand Prix when he spun just before a restart, following a safety car period. The Red Bull resident explains that he had an engine problem.

“I was overheating the tires, the engine was throwing way too much power at me and I couldn't control the car. I then lost power from there.” said the Mexican pilot.

In Q3 yesterday, in the top 10 today, Checo is convinced that he has finally found the solution, as he has been saying for several races. This time, the performances seen in the race seem to attest to this somewhat, even if he was far from Max Verstappen.

“We managed to find a good direction with the car, I hope we can confirm that when we are in Abu Dhabi, in order to have a solid weekend there” concluded a Pérez whose optimism we must praise.
