Oscar Piastri was hoping for better than a fourth place for his qualification for the Qatar Grand Prix. The McLaren F1 driver nevertheless explains that he did not make a mistake and that he could not have gone much faster.
“I'm not 100% sure I haven't heard anything about it. Honestly I was happy with my qualification, there wasn't much better to do, we didn't have the pace for the pole or second place I'm satisfied with my work but the car didn't have enough pace.” Piastri said.
McLaren, however, is ahead of Ferrari, and this is the most important thing for the constructors' championship. The Australian would like to validate this crown tomorrow, but above all he wants to succeed in fighting against the formidable Ferraris over the long stints.
“It's important to stay ahead, of course. And although we are disappointed to be third and fourth, we are still ahead of Ferrari. We have that at least, we want to score good points, it would be perfect to settle the matter but we will concentrate on our race and see where we will be at the end.
