According to a study carried out by Sportico, the valuation of each of the 10 Formula 1 teams now exceeds one billion dollars in 2024.

Unsurprisingly, Ferrari tops the rankings, followed by Mercedes and Red Bull. This increase reflects the growth of the discipline since its acquisition by Liberty Media in 2017. Note that in 2023, only six teams exceeded the symbolic billion-dollar mark.

According to Sportico, the team with the lowest valuation in 2024 is Haas (1.02 billion), not far from Sauber (1.2 billion).

This growth comes from the fact that Formula 1 teams benefit from partnerships and sponsors, with contracts ranging from 1 to more than 60 million dollars annually, notably for major sponsorships such as Oracle for Red Bull or Petronas for Mercedes. Sponsorship revenue has grown dramatically thanks to the rise of , with Aston Martin seeing a 1,000% increase since Lawrence Stroll purchased the team in 2018.

Formula 1 generates its revenue mainly through race promotion rights, media rights, commercial partnerships and ancillary services. Part of these revenues (38% in 2023) is redistributed to the teams according to the Concorde agreement, signed in 2020 for the period 2021-2025. This agreement establishes a distribution based on the teams' performance in the constructors' standings and includes bonuses for teams that have recently won titles or have an important history, such as Ferrari.

In 2023, the teams shared $1.22 billion, compared to $1.16 billion in 2022, reflecting an increase in F1's overall revenue. These figures demonstrate a discipline in full financial and commercial expansion, in particular thanks to the Netflix series “Drive To Survive”.
