Lando Norris hopes to return to the front after two more difficult races for McLaren F1. Sixth in Brazil and Las Vegas, the British driver is expecting a good weekend in Qatar, and he thinks the Losail circuit will suit the MCL38 well.
“I'm looking forward to returning to Qatar. It was a very good race for us last year, and we intend to do even better this year. It's also the last Sprint of the year, we will be looking so to bring back as many points as possible” Norris said.
“We are fully focused on what we need to achieve in the final two rounds. The track and conditions in Qatar should suit us better than last weekend, so I’m looking forward to seeing what we can do.”
Oscar Piastri has good memories at Losail and he hopes to create more, which would help his team: “I’m looking forward to going back to Qatar and it’s a Sprint weekend. I won the Sprint here last year, so I’m really excited to see what we can do this time.”
“We only have two weekends left and we know what we have to do. This weekend should be stronger for us than Vegas, so we have our heads down and we are ready to continue giving everything in the battle of the constructors' championship.”
Andrea Stella, the team principal, is also optimistic about seeing McLaren return to form in Qatar: “After a tougher weekend in Las Vegas, we now head into the penultimate race of the year.”
“The conditions and circuit in Qatar suit our car well, so we are ready to maximize every opportunity, especially with the additional crucial points available in the Sprint.”
“Our mission to win the championship remains clear and the fight is closer than ever. It's a three-way battle and every point counts. We remain focused and we will do everything in our power to finish the job.”
