The French pivot scored 34 points during the Spurs victory on the Jazz floor.
Wembanyama tire les Spurs
Frenchman Victor Wembanyama scored 34 of San Antonio's 128 points which won against the Utah Jazz (128-115), including 24 during the first period. The French pivot was skillful (13/23 shooting, including 6/14 from 3 points) and completed his statistics sheet with 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 interception and 3 blocks in 37'. San Antonio is in 10th place in the Western Conference (10 wins-8 losses).
Chaud show Lillard
Lillard scored 37 points (10 of 17 shooting and 8 of 13 three-pointers) and completed twelve assists. Opposite, the top scorer was Jimmy Butler with 23 points for Miami.
“I had a very good start to the match, I didn't try to force it. But I didn't want to stay passive, so I tried to stay aggressive throughout. I brought the ball out and we just made some good plays.”commented Lillard. The Bucks had widened a gap of 22 points but a series from the Heat (26-9) brought Miami back on the heels of Milwaukee (85-80) to start the fourth quarter. And Miami even managed to come back level (96-96) four minutes and two seconds from the final siren.
With 30 seconds left, the Heat were only one length behind the Bucks (104-103) and Tyler Herro then had the victory ball for Miami with five seconds remaining, but his three-point shot did not enter.
In the process, Taurean Prince made two free throws for Milwaukee and Terry Rozier's final three-point shot, which could have brought the two teams to a tie, missed its target. “We made some big shots, we played aggressive, we made some free throws at the right times, that's all you need to do to win a close game like this.”rejoiced Lillard.
Houston en prolongation
Houston was only able to defeat Minnesota in overtime after coming very close to defeat in regulation time. With 38 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, a basket from Amen Thompson allowed Houston to tie the game 102-102.
And this same Thompson put the Rockets into orbit from the start of overtime with a winning basket which allowed Houston to achieve an 11-0 and control its lead until the end.
In the end, Houston's Turk Alperen Sengun finished with a triple double (22 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists), supported by Fred VanVleet's 27 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds as well as Dillon Brooks' 22 points. More than enough to counter Anthony Edwards' 29 points for the Timberwolves.
With Durant and Beal, Phoenix dominates the Lakers
Recovered from calf injuries, Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal shone during the Phoenix Suns' victory at home against the Los Angeles Lakers (127-100). If Devin Booker (26 points and 10 assists) finished as the Suns' top scorer, Durant and Beal were not left out with 23 points each for their return to the floor.
“I felt good,” Durant said. “We needed this victory and as long as we are healthy, everything will be fine.” Among the Lakers, Anthony Davis was the most prominent with 25 points and 15 rebounds, while LeBron James can boast of 18 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds.
