What to expect from the end of the 2024 season?

As the Las Vegas Grand Prix approaches, what are the remaining challenges at the end of the 2024 season? Find out why the next 3 GPs are still essential, despite the domination of Max Verstappen.

3 more Grand Prix. Next week, the final sprint of the 2024 F1 season will officially begin. First meeting of this long epic: the Las Vegas GP, to be followed this Friday, November 22.

After the United States, the world of Formula 1 will meet in Qatar on December 1st. The 2024 season will end on December 8, during the Abu Dhabi GP. Here are 3 good reasons to follow these races.

Has Lando Norris given up on the 2024 world champion title?

A few weeks ago, McLaren dreamed of creating a surprise. It must be said that Max Verstappen's summer was rather complicated. The Dutchman lost his comfortable lead in the F1 standings, almost being caught by Lando Norris.

The Red Bull driver has since remobilized. Following his rival in every race, Verstappen hit the nail on the head during the Brazilian GP. What will definitively seal the 2024 F1 season? Not totally.

Max Verstappen can be champion at the Las Vegas GP under certain conditions. This does not prevent McLaren and Lando Norris from doing everything to prevent the Dutchman from being crowned for the 4th consecutive year. 62 pts currently separate the 2 drivers. A significant gap, but which still makes the last 3 GPs very interesting to follow.

The Top 10 F1 drivers: still 3 GPs to decide

Lando Norris has been looking ahead for several weeks now. The British driver should, however, be wary of Charles Leclerc. The Monegasque is in his rearview mirror, with 307 pts, against 331 for Norris.

The leading trio does not seem to be able to be caught by Oscar Piastri (262 pts) nor Carlos Sainz (244 pts). The fight to finish the 2024 F1 season in the Top 10 is still completely open. George Russell (6th with 192 pts) and Lewis Hamilton (190 pts) will engage in an internal battle at Mercedes.

Note that the British legend would have his worst season in terms of results if he finishes in 7th place. Behind, Sergio Pérez goes it alone with 151 pts and a well-consolidated 8th place. Same thing for Fernando Alonso, 9th with 62 pts.

It is finally the last step of the Top 10 of Formula 1 which is to be distributed. Currently, Hulkenberg occupies it, with 31 pts. Tsunoda (28 pts) and Pierre Gasly (26 pts) are in ambush. Lance Stroll (24 pts) and Esteban Ocon (23 pts) could also play spoilsport.

Who will win the F1 constructors' standings?

The end of the season is all the more important as nothing is yet decided regarding the F1 constructor rankings. For the moment, McLaren holds the lead, with 593 pts. Ferrari does not intend to give up, however, and occupies a good 2nd place with 557 pts.

Red Bull could still imagine inviting itself into the final sprint. With 544 pts, the Austrian team does not have the advantage in the standings. Especially since if Verstappen is crowned this weekend, the pressure should go down a notch.

Mercedes has no chance of leaving 4th place, with its 382 pts. The fight for 5th and 6th places should however be intense. As a reminder, a bonus of €30 million is paid to the teams finishing in this Top 6.

Enough to motivate Aston Martin (86 pts) to concentrate on these last 3 GPs. Behind, Alpine (49 pts), Haas (46 pts) and Racing Bulls (44 pts) will engage in a long-distance duel to try to win this bonus.

Who, Ferrari or McLaren, will win the constructors’ season? Who will finish on the F1 driver podium? You will have understood: this end of the season still promises to be exciting!
