A few days after Max Verstappen's incredible victory in Dantean conditions in Brazil, this Wednesday, November 13 marks eight years of an equally sensational performance in the rain in Brazil for the Dutchman.
To put you in context, the 2016 Brazilian Grand Prix is a crucial race in the title fight between Mercedes drivers Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg, as it is the penultimate race of the season .
For his part, Max Verstappen is not yet fighting for the title, having joined Red Bull earlier in the year at the time of the Spanish Grand Prix, which he just won.
But the Dutchman plays spoilsport in Brazil with a fantastic overtake on Nico Rosberg (voted FIA action of the year 2016) before making a completely crazy rescue on the way back to the start/finish straight.
His chances of victory were then stopped by a strategic error, since after putting on the intermediate tires, Verstappen was forced to quickly switch back to rain tires. Coming out very far in the peloton, the Red Bull driver (19 years old at the time) then used all his talent to get back on an improbable podium.
We therefore invite you to relive this 2016 Brazilian Grand Prix via the Canal+ Onboard show dedicated to this race.
