Formula 1 | RB will receive the rear axle of the Red Bull RB20

The cars of Red Bull's second Formula 1 team will benefit from new parts starting at next weekend's Las Vegas GP.

The VCARB 01, the RB single-seater, will thus be equipped with the rear suspension and gearbox of the current Red Bull Racing single-seater, the RB20.

The upgrade, allowed by regulations, will be worth about a tenth per turn.

The Faenza-based team, with Liam Lawson and Yuki Tsunoda behind the wheel, is locked in a tight and lucrative battle with Alpine and Haas for sixth place in the overall constructors' standings.

Alpine F1 took 6th place thanks to its double podium in Brazil but does not have the theoretical pace to resist its competitors. RB F1 is 5 points behind Alpine and 2 points behind Haas F1.

Team boss Laurent Mekies recently admitted that RB F1 had “difficulties in the development of our car that we encountered in the middle of the season.”

“It took us a while to digest this, understand and finally start to resolve the problem. The last few races have demonstrated that.”
