Lewis Hamilton, it's over!

As Lewis Hamilton prepares to end his glorious adventure at Mercedes, Bernie Ecclestone is pessimistic for the future at Ferrari.

The Formula 1 season is coming to an end. The drivers have an appointment from November 24 for the last three Grands Prix of the season. After Las Vegas in ten days, the circus will meet in Qatar and the Emirates for the last two rounds. These three Grands Prix will be Lewis Hamilton's last at Mercedes after more than a decade at Mercedes.

Lewis Hamilton is indeed preparing to join Ferrari, with whom he has signed up for the next three seasons with the hope of regaining his splendor after two complicated last seasons. The English driver is thus in seventh place in the drivers' standings. Conversely, notably driven by Charles Leclerc, third in the standings, Ferrari is fighting with McLaren to win the constructors' title.

He should go away and do something else

However, Bernie Ecclectone is pessimistic about Lewis Hamilton. “ I don't think it will be easy for Lewis. Especially on this team. They will support Charles Leclerc. He is fast and has grown on this team. They won't replace him with anyone else. However, from Lewis' point of view, perhaps it wasn't a mistake to join Ferrari. He could no longer exist at Mercedes,” he said in comments reported by Nextgen-Auto.

« Either he gave up on them or they gave up on him. They wouldn't do much to keep him, so it's best he leaves. He would have to give up a lot of things financially. “It's a big contract he got, although I suspect the bonus clauses written into his contract are there to make him feel good rather than for reality,”
he continued, adding: “For John Elkann, the director, it was a question of ego. He thought he had captured the best pilot the world had ever seen. When he signed it, there was no indication that he was wrong in his assessment. As for whether he is still satisfied with it, that's another story, he continues. Only time will tell. If Lewis weakens, which I don't like to see, he should go away and do something else, and do a good job in this new area. »
