Formula E innovates this Friday by setting up a test session reserved only for women with all teams entered obliged to field two female drivers at Jarama.
The feminization of motorsport is underway! After the W Series and the F1 Academy, the electric competition gets underway this weekend on the Madrid track.
The FE had to find an emergency alternative solution due to the dramatic events in Valencia, access to the Ricardo Tormo circuit being impassable while the pre-season winter tests had been planned there for a long time.
Among the selected candidates is a Frenchwoman, the young Lilou Wadoux (23 years old), a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy for whom she regularly races in GT.
With Jamie Chadwick
Wadoux was selected by the world champion team in the Jaguar Racing specialty alongside the formidable Briton Jamie Chadwick (photo above), three-time W Series champion and winner of an Indy NXT event in the United States this season before an IndyCar test at Andretti.
The comparison will therefore be interesting for the French driver who raced this year in IMSA in the LMP2 category as well as in the Super GT championship in Japan.
A wonderful opportunity
“This will be my first experience behind the wheel of a Formula E and I can't wait to experience it, Lilou said. This test is a fantastic opportunity for me to discover this discipline, which is well known for inspiring the next generation and encouraging women to become more involved in motorsport. I am very grateful for this opportunity and can’t wait to get behind the wheel of the Jaguar I-TYPE 7.”
This 100% female test will be followed by three private test sessions for world championship competitors actively preparing for season 11 with the electric single-seaters in preparation for the first E-Prix scheduled for Sao Paulo on December 7.
