This Champions League has many surprises in store. At the end of the 4th day, which ended this Wednesday, two French clubs appear in the top 4 halfway through this league phase. And not necessarily those we expected. Winner in Bologna (0-1) on Tuesday, AS Monaco ranks 3rd with 10 points out of 12 possible. Same total for the surprise Brest, winner of Prague (1-2), which follows in 4th place. With four matches remaining, the two teams have (already) almost assured their place (at a minimum) for the play-offs which will concern the teams ranked from 9th to 24th place. In front of them, Liverpool, the only team to have achieved a full success, and Sporting Portugal are leading the way.

Lower in the ranking but on the lookout, we find Lille (14th), tied on points with Leverkusen (13th), Arsenal (12th), Juventus (11th) and Manchester City (10th). On the other hand, things are getting serious for Paris Saint-Germain, having fallen into the trap of Atlético (1-2) at the Parc des Princes. Last French club, the leader of Ligue 1 (4 points) is in 25th place, temporarily eliminated from the competition.
