Esteban Ocon delivered one of the very good performances of the qualifying session in Brazil. The Alpine F1 driver will start fourth in the race for the Sao Paulo Grand Prix and he is happy about it, even if he still hoped for a little better.
“I'm glad I got up at 4:30 a.m. for this! It's cool that these conditions are able to level out the performance of the cars. I'm disappointed with the last run because we tried something new and we could have been third, but it's a great performance if you look at the season” Ocon told Canal+.
Pierre Gasly will start from the second half of the grid after setting the 15th time and he gets annoyed: “We have to do laps, I didn't do a lap in Q2 and there were a lot of things that didn't go well. I'm not going to go into details because I'm really upset, we could have managed in a better way but we will have to go back.”
“In Q2 I didn't do a single lap on intermediate tires on the two runs that I did. It's always difficult situations to manage but unfortunately we should have managed better. But it's this afternoon that we will score points.”
