No winner this Friday, at the Pierre-Mauroy stadium, during a (very) lively match between Losc and OL.
Half time each. And so a point everywhere. Nothing more logical. Lille conceded a draw against Lyon (1-1) this Friday, at the Pierre-Mauroy stadium, during the 10th day of Ligue 1. The Mastiffs opened the scoring through Jonathan David during a totally dominated first act. The Gones equalized in stoppage time through Malick Fofana after a second period during which they multiplied the chances. In the standings, Losc missed the opportunity to take second place and had to settle for third, before the OM match. OL are fifth. Note that AS Monaco was surprised by Angers (0-1) earlier in the evening, at the curtain-raiser.
Start of the match at Pierre-Mauroy, with the Gones threatening (3rd) and well into the game but the Dogues who ate the sheet twice. After a poorly executed pass by Niakhaté towards Perri, Gomes missed the inevitable (8th). Served at the penalty spot by Gudmundsson, Meunier opened his foot and… found the bar (13th). A ball slightly deflected by Tagliafico. Lyon was suffering more and more. And gave the stick to get beaten. Another back pass, reckless to say the least, this time from Maitland-Niles, and David played Perri (1-0, 17th). Lyon's turn to narrowly miss, with this (very) poorly played five-on-two counter and Veretout's slip to finish (22nd). But it was Losc who had the upper hand, with David who failed to bring down this cross from Gomes (28th) and Gudmundsson dried up just outside the area (30th). Gomes free kick… the post (32nd)! OL on a thread. Lille full of intensity. 1-0 at the break, cheap for Lyon.

At the end of the suspense
But the Lyonnais returned with other intentions. There was indeed this cross shot from Meunier (48th), but OL gained the upper hand as the minutes passed, with Lacazette missing the target… within six meters (53rd). Maitland-Niles was unable to get on target from the edge of the box (59th). Warnings free of charge. But the danger grew ever more pressing. The bar for Cherki (70th), double save from Chevalier in front of Matic and Tagliafico (74th).
The logical equalizer from Maitland-Niles, at fault on the Lille goal? The Lyonnais believed it… for a few moments, the time for the referee to signal an offside position (77th). Genesio like crazy. The Lille coach would not have celebrated a goal from his team any more… The Lille coach still had a scare, with this beautiful curling shot from Maitland-Niles (86th). By bending, however, Lille broke. Maitland-Niles in action, again, for a cross magnificently taken by Fofana (1-1, 90+2). A goal worth a point (1-1 final score). Beyond these two lost points, the bad news of the evening for Lille is the injury to Thomas Meunier. Double punishment.
