The specialist website Capology has published the list of the highest paid players in La Liga. Among them, we find mainly people from Madrid and Barcelona…and several French people.
Astronomical sums. The specialized website Capology has published the list of the highest paid players in LaLiga. And contrary to what one might think, it is not Kylian Mbappé – who arrived “for free” at Real Madrid CF this season – who monopolizes first place…but Robert Lewandowski. The FC Barcelona center forward, author of an exceptional start to the season (17 goals in all competitions with the Blaugrana), receives €640,962 each week, or €33.33 million per year. To get a more concrete idea, the Pole earns €3,815.25 every hour. He is (narrowly) ahead of the captain of the France team whose weekly salary amounts to €600,962, which is equivalent to €31.25 million. The podium in this ranking is completed by (another) surprise: the Merengue defender, injured for almost a year, David Alaba (€432,692 per week, or €22.5 million per year).
Several French people at the top of the ranking
Unsurprisingly, among the twenty highest paid players in Spain, we mainly find members of Real Madrid CF. The White House is over-represented with eleven elements, including (obviously) Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Jr (4e from the same with €400,577 per week, or €20.83 million per year). FC Barcelona is not left out with five players, including Frenkie de Jong (7e€365,385 per week, or €19 million per year)…and Ansu Fati (12e€268,269 per week, or €13.95 million per year). Club Atlético de Madrid and Athletic Club each have two of their members in the top places in the ranking.

The French are also rather well represented since there are five in the top twenty. In addition to Kylian Mbappé, we find Jules Koundé (13e€260,577 per week, or €13.55 million per year), then Antoine Griezmann, Eduardo Camavinga and Aurélien Tchouaméni all three from the same (14e€240,385 per week, or €12.5 million per year).
