Table tennis | Alexis Lebrun offers France a Lebrunico

Just a few days after his double title at the European Championships, Alexis Lebrun took the opportunity to ridicule us once again in front of the whole of . Not very fair play.

After Félix Lebrun's victory against Xiang Peng yesterday (3-1), Alexis had no choice but to do at least as well as his little brother to join him in the quarter-finals. The leadership of the siblings must go through this. And for that, he had to get the better of the man he martyred in the semi-final of the last European Championships (4-0), Truls Moregard. And this evening again, the slap was roaring.

Alexis Lebrun’s deplorable start to the match…

The match begins, or we should rather say, Alexis Lebrun's table tennis lesson. Of the first eight points of the match, the Frenchman simply won all eight. Just so as not to make anyone jealous. As is often the case with the Lebruns, it is better not to arrive late. But in order not to penalize those who did not respect the start time of the game, and to preserve a semblance of suspense, Alexis decides to return the next six to the Swede. In terms of regularity, we will come back. Faced with this Swedish comeback, Alexis decided to take a time out, and finally won the first round (11-9). All for that.

The second round is quite surprising. And for good reason, while Alexis Lebrun rode eight consecutive sets won against Moregard (4-0 in singles, 3-0 in doubles and 1-0 this evening), faltered. The Scandinavian won 11-9 in turn against the older brother of Lebrun, and equalized at 1-1. But above all, put an end to this filthy series. We don't know it yet, but it will be our only light of the evening. The next round is a real Lebrunian butchery. Alexis goes on to a 7-0 to conclude with a clinical 11-3.

…same for the end of the match

The fourth set is an encore repeat of the previous one. And when we say that it is a carbon copy, these are not empty words. The Frenchman once again inflicted a scathing 11-3 on the Olympic vice-champion, and won the match 3-1. The room is delirious, and we can (unfortunately) understand the thousands of supporters. Table tennis is definitely not compatible with FFL.

This victory is certainly intolerable, but it offers the whole of France the opportunity to attend the Lebrun derby this Saturday in the quarter-finals. As a reminder, Félix never won his brother in an official match. Never five without six?
