Twelve years after London, the French team is back in the final of the Paralympic Games. Les Bleus beat Colombia 1-0 in the semi-final at the foot of the Eiffel Tower to secure a dream final.
A French stronghold at the Olympic Games, team sports are far from smiling as much on the French teams at the Paralympic Games. All except blind football, a discipline in which the Blues have been enjoying an epic since the start of the competition. By beating Colombia 1-0 in the semi-final, the Tricolores ensured themselves a medal and at least equaled their record in the discipline: a silver medal in 2012 in London.
Colombia is one of the rising powers in blind football. Moreover, the Tricolor had beaten the Blues during the 2023 World Cup, a competition in which they finished in 4th placee place. And for their first Paralympic Games, they came out on top of their group, ahead of the world champions Argentina. Just that. Tidiane Diakité and his gang have been warned.
