Never seen before in Clermont. “We were on the first floor and we saw the sirens. The neighborhood has been completely sealed off,” confides a stunned local resident. Friday January 17, around 10 p.m., the manager of a pizzeria in this town in Oise was the target of a shooting.
According to the first elements communicated by the Beauvais public prosecutor's office, the manager was in front of his business, located on Place Bernard Laurent, when he was hit by gunfire. Two bullets were lodged in his legs. Transferred to the emergency room of the Beauvais hospital center, he is currently at the Amiens University Hospital to undergo surgery. “His vital prognosis is not in jeopardy,” confirms Frédéric Trinh, the public prosecutor of Beauvais.
This Saturday morning, the restaurant was closed. Lionel Olivier, the mayor (PS) of the town says he is “stunned”. He was holding his vows ceremony when the police informed him of the tragedy. “This has never happened in Clermont. It’s an extraordinary news story but we are not safe in a town of 10,000 inhabitants, I can only regret it,” the elected official breathes again. A local resident deplores the growing insecurity in the neighborhood: “We call it the street of miracles, it's always a mess, there are lots of drug addicts. The police are often there. »
The Beauvais public prosecutor's office specifies “that criminal legal proceedings were opened” this Friday evening. So far, the shooter has not been found. Investigations are currently being carried out by the research brigade of the Clermont gendarmerie company.
