A sweater over clothing and a scarf in your hair that hides your ears. ” I combine layers. I’m going to switch to big socks soon,” jokes Nicole, retired and living on the ground floor of the Orée du bois residence, in Achères (Yvelines).
The one who isn't joking, on the other hand, is the thermometer: 17,8 °C in the kitchen. “Since 1is January 2025, I did not exceed 18°C at home,” emphasizes Nicole.
The trustee would have very few complaints
The heaters are lukewarm at the top and cold when you go down close to the ground. Normally, the temperature is capped at 19°C throughout the co-ownership since the last vote at the general meeting.
Nicole therefore went through the two episodes of extreme cold, on January 3 and 11, 2025 (negative temperatures throughout the department, Editor's note) with heaters that worked at half capacity. According to the trustee in charge of the residence, “of the 130 housing units in the residence, only four complained heating”.
“I prefer to go out”
To overcome the cold, Nicole finds solutions. “I prefer to go out. I spend hours away from home, but this can't last like that,” she admits.
-She sent a registered mail on January 6, 2025 to the trustee. She also made a phone call to them a week later. Until then, she has no idea of the reason for this malfunction, and does not know if things are being put in place to remedy it.
She specifies that the interview is nevertheless well done: “The boilers are new. They date from the beginning of 2024. The radiators were purged last December.”
A “private” dysfunction
Informed only since January 13, 2025, the trustee is doing his utmost to solve the problem. “In view of the few complaints, we believe that this is a private malfunction relating to each of the apartments concerned. Maybe a sludge problem. We are doing what is necessary, we cannot let this situation continue. »
“The heating company has been informed and must intervene soon to try to identify the problem and resolve it,” continues the trustee. We are service providers, we just wait the intervention of professionals to tell us what it is. »
