Dordogne. Towards the end of the deployment of optical fiber in Périgord

The work of deploying very high speed broadband in Dordogne thanks to a public fiber optic network by Périgord Numérique is coming to an end at the beginning of 2025. The last socket of the 42,000 in the south-eastern part of the department was connected on January 8, has Villefranche-du-Périgord.

This part of the largest project carried out in Dordogne concerned 93 municipalities. To bring fiber to the edge of residents' properties, no less than 3,600 km of cables had to be deployed.

By the end of 2025, all of Périgord will be connected to fiber in the part covered by Périgord digital. For its part, Orange is deploying fiber on Bergerac and around ten municipalities around Périgueux.
