Soren Bruyère Joumard in full swing – News

Soren Bruyère Joumard remains on cloud nine. Already winner of the previous round of the Coupe de – on Sunday in – but also and above all winner in Dublin for the opening of the World Cup on December 1st, the Rhônalpin signed a third success in a row this Saturday , at Ferté-Bernard, in (see ranking). “I’m super happy. I hadn't raced for a while, it's good to be back competing before the next two World Cup rounds. The legs are there, the technique too”rejoices the winner with DirectVelo.

Often handicapped by his departures in the past, this time he managed to take the lead immediately. “It’s important for me, I have progressed in this aspect”. He then suffered a puncture. “I told myself it was going to be hot to win after that… It was a bit panicky but I managed to come back and win anyway”. But we had to work until the end. “It was tough behind me, I shouldn't fall asleep. I wasn't sure I would win at all. I still manage to amaze myself”.

AN ERROR OF HOSE FOR THEOPHILE VASSAL

Florian Fery would have seen his arms raised this Saturday. And he didn't miss much. “I continue to play up front, it’s cool. Soren changed bikes when I attacked but he managed to come back. He is stronger than me on the embankments”concedes the Ardennese, a fine player. “I didn't manage to get back on the wheel, I died ten meters on the line. It came down to small details, I often had to restart to get back on the wheel. It was the best opportunity to win one yet. But it was a recovery after a break. There are no regrets to be had. It’s especially cool to see that the level is there”. Here is the Bikeenergy School rider more convinced than ever that he can do it. “It’s not over, I still have one chance tomorrow”.

Théophile Vassal, for his part, was not unhappy after the finish. “It’s still a great podium, it’s always satisfying”. 3rd today, he still regrets a hardware error. “I managed my race well but I made a mistake with the tubulars, and a few technical errors on the hills. It's a shame not to start with the right guts. I will be more careful next time. This shouldn’t happen to me at the French Championship or the World Cup… But you always learn from your mistakes”. The member of the Jura Cyclisme training also admits that “the two who finished in front were very strong”. And he was even afraid of seeing the podium slip away from him. “But I managed to re-mobilize myself well to stay on course”.
