Champion of France Cadettes last January, winner of the first two rounds of the Coupe de France Juniors in Nommay (Doubs) at the beginning of autumn, Lise Revol could undoubtedly dream of dominating the U19 category this season. But since then, Provençale has slowed down slightly. Absent at Pierric, she was content with a 4th place on Saturday, in Troyes, before finishing 2nd on Sunday behind her teammate Jeanne Duterne, still on the Aube circuit (see ranking). A double result with which she seems, all the same, relatively satisfied. “Overall it was a good weekend, although I was hoping to win at least once. I have to improve technically, work on it in training because I made too many mistakes”.
Saturday, Lise Revol assures that she was not able to perform at her best level. “In each of the two rounds, I made several mistakes which cost me the victory. Today (Sunday), I still had better feelings. The cold really paralyzed me yesterday, I wasn't feeling well, I had no feeling throughout the race. This time it was really better, I was able to give what I had to move up to 2nd place”. During this sixth round of the Coupe de France, she explains having taken “a good start” but subsequently quickly made two errors which caused him to lose precious time, and temporarily fall to fourth place. “I then returned to my rhythm, little by little, until I gained ground to secure second place”.
Before this meeting in Troy, Lise Revol had taken 12th place in the European Championship, in Spain. “I didn't feel great there. I didn't like the circuit, it was too flat, there wasn't enough technique or climbs. I won’t keep any great memories of it.”. She then took three to four days off before starting a new cycle. From now on, she will turn her attention to the start of the World Cup, in Dublin. “I will go a little far because I don't have too many UCI points. I will try to move up as many places as possible during the race”.
