To participate in the Junior events of the French Track Championship of the Future, the committees are required to participate in the French Junior Track Cup of the regions. This year, the event took place at the Buxerolles velodrome on May 18 and 19, a week after the French Future Road Championship.
All the metropolitan committees traveled except that of the Southern Region. However, the committee had entered four riders in the Men’s category but they did not come to the Vienne. No women were hired. The Track Commission, approved by the Executive Office of the FFC, therefore decided to prohibit the South Region committee from participating in the Junior Men’s and Women’s events of the French Track Championship of the Future (which also includes Cadets and Minimes events). -Cadettes). On the other hand, for the Grand Est committee which had made the effort to come to Buxerolles with an incomplete team (two Junior Men), the Track Commission allows it to field riders in the Junior Men and Women events.
The South Region committee explains this absence by “last minute unforeseen events (1 day before departure) [qui] have returned [le déplacement] impossible. Several of our riders were forced to withdraw for physical reasons, others stopped competing, and some were under suspension. These problems arose just before the race, and we found ourselves unable to field a full squad“.
The French Track Championship of the Future, for Juniors, Cadets and Minimes-Cadettes will take place at the Loudéac velodrome from October 30 to November 3.
