Niklas Behrens, current member of the Lidl-Trek Future Racing team, understand the reserve of the American WorldTeam, will change tune next season. The German has in fact signed up with the Visma-Lease a Bike team for the rest of his career.
The powerful 20-year-old sprinter-puncher has just won the title of U23 World Champion, after winning a silver medal at the European Championship, in addition to the title of German U23 Champion on the road. Niklas Behrens also won the U23 Four Nations Championship and the Youngster Coast Challenge. Among his many places of honour, the German U23 vice-Champion of the time trial placed 2nd in the last stage of the Tour of Italy Espoirs, beaten by a gut by Matthew Brennan of the team… Visma Lease has Bike Devo. He also placed 3rd in a stage of the Tour of Austria (2.1), 4th in Gand-Wevelgem Espoirs, 4th in a stage in the Peace Race or even 5th in a stage at the Tour de l’Avenir, in Ronchamp-Champagney and 7th in the U21 World Time Trial Championship.
