With two events last weekend, the Raymond Poulidor Challenge was once again very competitive. Last Sunday, on the roads of the South of Cher, the Circuit des Vendanges in Maisonnais crowned a rider from SCO Dijon in the person of Marius Macé. The fast rider from Burgundy won in a sprint ahead of the ever-young Yannick Martinez (Team Atria Montluçon Cyclisme) – also leader of the Challenge Boischaut Marche. Ben Chilton (APOGE), Toby Chatonnet (VC Rouen 76) and Lilian Langella (Top 16) finished respectively 3rd, 4th and 5th in this round of the Raymond Poulidor Challenge raced at an average speed of over 44.5 km/h. Last Monday afternoon at the Grand Prix du Centre de la France in Bruère-Allichamps, we witnessed a real festival of SCO Dijon.

By winning this round of the Raymond Poulidor Challenge (Farley Barber) and especially by ranking 3 riders in the Top 5, the Burgundy club has done a very good job for the team ranking of the challenge. Indeed, with a credit of 20 points brought back on this Boischaut Marche event, SCO Dijon returns to equality (283 points) with VC Rouen 76 in the team ranking of the Raymond Poulidor Challenge and this two rounds from the final result!
Clément Izquierdo (AVC Aix-en-Provence) still holds 1st place in the individual ranking – 104 points – ahead of Killian Théot (VC Rouen 76) – 100 points, Victor Guernalec (Bourg-en-Bresse Ain Cyclisme) – 84 points, Victor Papon (Paris Cycliste Olympique) – 79 points, Justin Ducret (SCO Dijon) – 77 points, Oscar Nilsson-Julien (AVC Aix-en-Provence) – 75 points and Jonas Geens (Morbihan Adris Gwendal Oliveux) – 68 points.
When we know that a victory brings 10 points and that the first 5 of the last two rounds will be rewarded in points (10, 8, 6, 4 and 2), then the individual and team podiums of the Raymond Poulidor Challenge will be played out on the next two events: Bol d’Or des Amateurs and Trophée des Champions (September 27 and 28). So which riders and teams will be rewarded at the final ceremony in Valdivienne (86)? Answer on Saturday evening…
We are already salivating because the sporting stakes will be so intense because anything will be possible in these two final events of the Raymond Poulidor Challenge that we absolutely must not miss!
