As reported by our colleagues from France Bleu Bourgogne, a vast search has just been carried out by the police, as part of an investigation against child pornography carried out by 270 gendarmes from the Metz research sections, of Dijon and Besançon, as well as the operational section for combating cyber threats in Colmar.
In total, 37 people were arrested on suspicion of having downloaded and distributed child pornography images. “At least one suspect was arrested in the jurisdiction of each of the 28 judicial courts,” details a press release from the gendarmerie. Thirty-two of these suspects have already been brought to justice.
Among those arrested are at least three people living in Côte-d'Or and Saône-et-Loire.
One million child pornography files found
Investigators got their hands on more than a million child pornography files, but also weapons and narcotics.

A similar operation took place in March 2023. At the time, 17 people were arrested in the Grand-Est.
