The icing on the cake: he immediately brought the first victory of the season to his training thanks to a big performance on the individual time trial this Sunday at the Tour of Sharjah (see classification). And if he had been told of such an omen three months ago, maybe he would have laughed out or cried. “I come back from afar, it is a beautiful revenge”.
It's yes or is it right?
Let's go back a few months: last summer, after a few interesting performances for his first season at Philippe Wagner/Bazin, with several good times, including an 11th place on that of the Tour de Belgique (2.Pro) which did not leave Indifferent to some high -level teams, the 26 -year -old athlete had several contacts. Different French Conti are interested and in talks with him. Two WorldTeams – a French and a Belgian – also inquire. Meanwhile, the merger project between its current team and Bingoal WB takes shape, therefore the projection of a climb in the world division for Quentin Bezza. He even tests for effort in Belgium in September, followed by a visibly conclusive interview. “I was first told that it was off to a good start for me, then that it was good. I had not yet signed but there was a verbal agreement ”.
The double winner of stages at the turn of Guadeloupe (2.2) then decides to end the contacts with the other interested training courses. He made his decision and will indeed evolve with the Franco-Belgian Proteam. Yes but that's it. “I went calmly on vacation. Except that the days passed and I still did not receive a contract … ”. He opted for a phone call to his future direction on October 10, and learns that he is ultimately not in the plans of the structure. “I recalled all the teams in disaster but they were complete”. Stupor. “I started to put myself in mind that I was going to return to Dijon”. Thanks to an extension by Philippe Wagner and the will of one of the French leaders of the team to see Quentin Bezza in the structure in 2025, the Proteam returns to its decision and finally signs a final recruit, which will only be formalized november. It is still in special conditions that Quentin Bezza therefore joined the workforce. “I spent two weeks completely in the blur. I arrived at the first internship on tiptoe. The latest arrival in the 2025 workforce is the first to bring a bouquet to the Proteam Wagner Bazin WB this year. Almost a nose. “Getting the first victory of the season is never easy for a team. We had already done it with Pierre (Barbier) here last year. I am happy to bring this victory to the group. I show the team that I am able to answer present when I have my card ”.
