A leak of hazardous materials took place on Sunday January 26 around 9 a.m. on a Seveso site south of .
According to information from Progressthe leak concerns the Elkem Silicones factory, located on Avenue des Frères Perret, in Saint-Fons.

A few liters

The product in question would be chlorosilane. The internal operation plan has been activated. Around twenty people working on the site were reportedly confined until 10:30 a.m., during the intervention of the platform's firefighters, supported by reinforcements from the Sdmis. Water screens were put in place by firefighters to limit the spread of vapors.

After plugging the leak, which was only a few liters according to our sources, and carrying out analyses, factory activities were able to resume at the end of the morning.
