In 2020, this midday participation rate was higher: 15.83% at the same time in the first round of the municipal elections.
In this commune of 35,492 inhabitants, 12,472 people are registered on the electoral lists. Villeneuve-Saint-Georges is traditionally a city where voters travel little: 66% abstention in the first round of municipal elections in 2020, 64% abstention in the legislative elections in 2022.
The citizens are called to the polls this Sunday because in November 2024, the Val-de-Marne prefecture noted that more than a third of the seats on the municipal council were vacant due to the successive resignations of several elected officials.
