Who are the young French riders to watch out for in the new season? Here are some names.

During this new cycling season which officially started on Tuesday with the Tour Down Under, we will follow in particular on the French side the performances of David Gaudu, Julian Alaphilippe, who joined a new team, or Romain Bardet, who will store the bikes after the Critérium du Dauphiné (from June 8). And then, we will monitor the behavior of the young French riders who we obviously hope will stand out from the crowd to shine on the roads around the world. We already know Romain Grégoire and Lenny Martinez (21 years old), two French people respected in the World Tour. Other Tricolores could emerge in 2025.

Magnier highly anticipated like Seixas

We can think of Paul Magnier. Having arrived at the professional level last season, the Isérois quickly distinguished himself by winning the Trofeo des Salines in his first race. Then the sprinter scored a hat-trick in the Tour of Great Britain and was not far from raising his arms again at the finish line in the World Tour at the Bretagne Classic. At 20 years old, the one who was born in Texas, in the United States, and who is part of the Soudal Quick-Step training is eagerly awaited like Paul Seixas (18 years old), junior world time trial champion, promised to great things. His Decathlon-AG2R teammates, Léo Bisiaux and Noa Isidore, both 20 years old, will undoubtedly have less pressure on their shoulders.

Bisiaux is a cyclo-cross specialist, he took 6th place in the Giro U23 and 4th in the Tour de l'Avenir. Its punch is very interesting and can do damage. Isidore, a promising road sprinter, will be expected in the classics. And then, we will also follow Brieuc Rolland. Winner of the Peace Race and the U23 Tour of Lombardy in 2024, the 21-year-old runner took 3rd place on the Polynormande. He seems ready to shine among the “big guys” after being incubated by Groupama-FDJ within the reserve.
