This young Breton woman set off for 19,000 km by bike across Europe

This morning of January 2, there is excitement in Ville-Helle, a village in the countryside near Saint-Igneuc, near Jugon-les Lacsfor the departure of Faustine, the daughter of Valérie and Philippe Orveillon.

Faustine is in good shape, ready to get on her bike and pedal for a 19,000 kilometer journey across Europe.

Lucky charms on the bike

“I slept well and I feel fitwell rested, I am ready. »

She looks at her bike:

The bike is equipped with several bags : hammock, a small tarpaulin which serves as a tent, clothes, food, bedding.

Lucky charms punctuate the frame: key rings, stickers, small stuffed animals…

An emotional dad

Motivated, among her loved ones, she waits for the time to leave. The family is present, the admiring aunts in front of a very determined niece and even the dog Loustig who circles around the bike.

Philippe the dad seems the most moved.

There's always a little apprehension, it's not nothing to go on an adventure like that… But, we're used to it! Guillaume, our son, has already been traveling by bike around the world for three years, with his partner.

Departure time has arrived and we say goodbye. It's almost 9:45.

Accompanied by her mother

Faustine, the lonely one, unitedgets on his bike. Here we go for a new year-long journey.

In 2022, it had connected the filming locations of the films Harry Potter by bike, a journey of 2,600 km in Great Britain to surpass themselves and support the French Association for Lowe Syndrome, a rare disease.

Valérie, the mother, gets on her bike to accompany him a few kilometers to the town of Mégrit. From there, she will leave alone.
