Thibau Nys won the 10th round of the Cyclo-cross World Cup in Benidorm. Wout van Aert finished just off the podium.
World champion Fem van Empel returned to victory this Sunday in Benidorm. At the end of a competitive race on the very fast Benidorm circuit, the Visma | Lease a Bike defeated Lucinda Brand (Baloise Glowi Lions) in the sprint. Marie Schreiber (Team SD Worx – Protime) completes the podium. Brand is still leader of the general classification, 51 points ahead of van Empel.

Among the men, in the absence of Mathieu van der Poel, Wout van Aert (Visma | Lease a Bike) was the favorite, he who had won here last year. But the Belgian only finished fourth. It was the European and Belgian champion Thibau Nys (Baloise Glowi Lions) who won, after making the effort in the last lap. He is ahead of Eli Iserbyt (Pauwels Sauces-Cibel Clementines) and his teammate Lars Van der Haar. In the general classification, Vanthourenhout is back in the lead, 33 points behind Toon Aerts.
