However, this is the ordeal endured since mid-December by a family of three living in Montigny-en-Gohelle, in Pas-de-Calais. Accusing the mother of not paying her rent, her landlord simply had all the door frames removed from the ground floor of her house.
“This courageous mother […] lives without doors or windows since his owner had them dismantled, shortly before Christmas,” alerted the Housing Rights association (DAL) at the beginning of January. According to the association, which supports the tenant, her landlord had asked her to vacate the house for the month of December, “which she was unable to do due to lack of rehousing solution for her and her family”, explains the DAL.
