Already two podiums at the Giro
This will be the 8th participation of Mikel Landa au Girothis time his objective will be to win a stage and achieve a good general classification. 10 years ago, in 2015, the now 35-year-old Basque went for 3rd place in the Pink Racewhich remains his best result on a Grand Tour (he also finished 3rd in 2022). 5th of Tour de France last year, Landa will therefore be one of the main favorites on this Giro.
“I am very happy to participate in the Giro, a race that holds a special place in my heart. It is the race that allowed me to make a name for myself as a rider. In 2015, I won two stages and finished third in the general classification, and this stage that I won at Mortirolo with a finish in Aprica remains one of my best memories to this day”declares Landa. “It will be a challenge, because many good riders will be at the start, but I will do my best to fight for a stage victory and a good result in the general classification. I am looking forward to May and the meeting with the incredible Italian fans, who make the Giro one of the most beautiful races in the world”concludes the Basque, who will begin his 15th professional season in March, on the roads of White Roads.
