HAS Lannionthe second edition of the Brélévenez cyclo-cross takes place this Saturday, December 21. This year, the event is to watch live on the Facebook page of Trégor.

“It changes dimension, it’s a few floors above,” confides Johan Le Bonthe former professional runner, on hand to set up the business. His desire: a free family race around the Stanco wood“a playground that must make some people envious”.

Races start at 1 p.m.

Last year, the first edition attracted approximately 4,500 spectators. For this edition, Luc Kerlouet bet on twice as much! The cycling enthusiast, arrow of the Olympic flame at the Games, has taken over well by resurrecting the Trégorois meeting, and leaves it to Johan Le Bon to develop the event, which is organized by the association La Roue Tourne .

“Before the Tour de , we need young people! It’s also important that the little ones see the champions.”

These are the young graduates of cycling schools, from 7 years oldwho will be the first to try out a course adapted according to ages, from 1 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.

The juniors and the elite women's race will start at 4 p.mwith a passage in the 142 steps from Brélévenez, the little Montmartre of Trégor, before returning to the woods.

Who wins?

Finally, at 5 p.m., the elite men's race will start in turn, with a double passage of the steps as a preamble to an explanation of the text in the Stanco, for a little over an hour of racing.

In the game of predictions for the final victory, among the Men's Elites, those in the know will perhaps check off the names of the Costarmorican Clement Alleno (Burgos BH) or Finistérien Louis Tanguythe hopeful champion (Ardennes Cross Team Gecibat). Among the women, a duel Basset/Porhel will it take place?

The race will cross a large marquee!

Organization-wise, the overall design will be slightly modified compared to the first edition. Concerning the races, the transition at the top of the Brélévenez steps will be done by the cemetery : with the agreement of the parish and the town hall, the runners will cross it via a corridor equipped with barriers, thus allowing “respect for the occupants”. Access to the cemetery will therefore be prohibited to the public.

In Stanco, a big marqueeis installed to welcome cyclo-cross partners and the public. Originality: the race will cross the marquee via a sand passage!

“The race will pass in front of the people who will make the pancakes and serve drinks. The head of the barbecue and sausages complained last year about not having seen the race.”
