Lunch Ride | Build a Bike Media

Exceptional year, exceptional podcast. For this new episode of the Lunch Ride, we offer you a behind-the-scenes look at a cycling media that you know well: Vojo. For 10 years, the four partners behind your media have been offering you exclusive content on two sites, videos, podcasts and social networks. Olivier Béart, Paul Humbert, Esteban Hendrickx and Christophe Bortels look back on a decade of vibrating to the rhythm of their media.

Vojo, like any business, is first and foremost an idea and human encounters. In this episode of the Lunch Ride, you will discover how Vojo was born. First projects, first struggles, first successes, we look back at the first years of the life of our media.

This podcast is also an opportunity to discover a little better the roles of the four partners at the heart of a larger team of journalists, photographers, videographers and designers.

We can't resist the idea of sharing with you some anecdotes that punctuated our first 10 years, and we talk about what changes in our way of working, and what remains the same as when we started. Bikes change, but the way we test them has changed little. In 2014, we only talked about mountain biking. In the meantime, e-MTBs and gravel have joined our editorial line and we'll tell you why.

You will discover how Vojo went from a “simple” website to a whole small galaxy of contact points to better adapt to media consultation habits.

In bulk, we also talk to you about paper magazines, the growing team, our favorite destinations, beaver socks, Italy and South African potatoes.

Finally, we look to the future to see the future of Vojo and share with you our vision of our profession. One point will be key: succeeding in continuing to seduce you with our content, the form of it and the variety of subjects offered. For all this, thank you. Thank you for allowing us to live these ten wonderful years by supporting us with your readings and your commitment, and thank you for the coming years!

The Vojo team.
