General Assembly of the Critérium Cycliste Professionnel de Saint-Seurin-sur-l’Isle

The Professional Cyclist Critérium of Saint-Seurin-sur-l’Isle held its annual general meeting in the presence of around forty participants. President Xavier Poujol presented a moral report marked by conviviality and gratitude, reviewing the success of the first criterion and outlining ambitious projects for 2025.


A look back at the 2024 edition

An exceptional mobilization:

  • 80 volunteers mobilized with passion,
  • 40 partners committed,
  • A heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Eveline Lavaure-CordonnaMayor of Saint-Seurin-sur-l’Isle, and Mr. BidouDeputy delegate to associations, for their valuable support.

A festive and popular event:

  • The participation of local actors such as The Little Wolvesthe karate club and the accordion club,
  • Miss Aquitaine 2024, Allan Théo and Jacques Bossis (former professional runner),
  • An audience estimated between 2000 and 3000 spectatorsdespite competition from regional events such as the Fest'Arts de and the Battle of Castillon.

A sporting feat:

  • The victory of the young French prodigy, Kevin Vauquelinmarked this first edition,
  • A peloton that is both quantitative and qualitative, with the support of Mickaël Delage who ensures relations with the runners
  • Maxence Chavanel winner of the U17 event, since recruited by the U19 Soudal Quick-Step team.

A positive impact:

  • Enthusiastic testimonials on social networks praising the organization and the atmosphere,
  • And balanced budgetguaranteeing the sustainability of the event.

News in the office

The secretary proceeded with the election of the members of the office, which passes from 9 to 12 peoplewith the arrival of:

  • Francois Guillouresponsable communication,
  • Anick Demortierassistant secretary,
  • Jean-Paul Nicolascatering and motorhome area manager.

All other members of the office were re-elected unanimously.


Projects and new features for 2025

The president revealed the broad outlines of the 2025 edition, which promises to be even richer:

  • Startlist of around forty riders for the elite race, with more riders from the Tour,
  • Course U17 : Moving to the regional level from its second edition, in collaboration with the Fédération Régionale de Cyclisme Nouvelle-Aquitaine.
  • The probable return of the Little Wolveswith a type animation bike storage/attic.
  • Cycling tour : Co-organization with the Cyclo-Club de Libourne from the early hours of the morning.
  • Cycling school race : Partnership with AVC Libourne to encourage the emergence of young talents.
  • Restoration : A large place will be given to local associations for lunch and evening meals.
  • Additional animations : A lottery organized by the ladies of the Critérium and the possibility of a cyclo-cross co-organized with AVC Libourne.

A call for mobilization

The president insisted on the difficult economic context and launched an appeal to all the driving forces, businesses, and partners to financially and logistically support this flagship event, a vector of dynamism for the town and the region.
