Cycling. Cyclo-cross – Shirin van Anrooij absent for at least six months!

Shirin Van Anrooij (Lidl-Trek / Baloise Trek Lions) will miss the cyclocross season and the first months of the road season. After experiencing unusual sensations in his left leg during the second half of the road season, Shirin van Anrooij was diagnosed with narrowing of the external iliac artery. On October 31, the 22-year-old Dutchwoman successfully underwent an operation to widen the artery and will now have to observe an extended period of rest before returning to training and then competition. Unfortunately, this means that the 2023 U23 Cyclo-cross World Champion will miss the glade season, as well as the first months of the road season. She should return to road competition around May with her team Lidl-Trek.
