In 2019, the Government launched the Knowing How to Ride a Bike learning system (SRAV). It aims to help all children aged 6 to 11 acquire the skills necessary for real autonomy on a bicycle on public roads, which represents around 800,000 children to be trained per year. The putting into practice of SRAV can be done at school, but also during extracurricular or extracurricular time. Learning to cycle at school plays a key role in promoting active and safe mobility from an early age, while encouraging an ecological transition beneficial to society.

Already 80,000 schoolchildren trained in knowing how to ride a bike

Since the launch of this system, the FFC and its clubs have trained more than 80,000 schoolchildren Know how to ride a bike ! In 2024, the FFC conducted an in-depth study with 19 clubs and 7 committees to ensure the success of this program, the objective being to obtain a quantitative evaluation of its deployment and to analyze the economic benefits and good practices that have could emerge in the structures that provided this learning method for the training of young cyclists.

Since its beginnings, the program SRAV of the FFC has experienced remarkable acceleration, with a total of more than 80,000 certificates issued, including nearly 39,000 for the year 2023/2024. The report explores the successes of the program, feedback from field stakeholders over 5 years of implementation and opportunities for better mobilization of clubs and more extensive coverage in the territory.
