Changes continue within the Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale team. After the appointment of a new youth team manager last week, a new arrival was announced by thehe structure based in La Motte-Servolex this Monday morning. Currently a runner with the Ineos Grenadiers team, Luke Rowe has been appointed as sporting director of the Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale team. The Welshman will begin his retraining phase and will take up his duties from November 1, 2024.

“I took the time to think about my future and the rest of my career. The Decathlon AG2R la Mondiale project appealed to me because of the team’s performances this year but also because it is a project for the future. I will be keen to bring my experience from years past at the highest level and to support the riders, particularly in the classics,” he declared on the French team’s social networks.

At the age of 34, Luke Rowe announced the end of his sporting career a few weeks ago after 13 years with the British team. A classics specialist, the stage winner of the Tour of Britain in 2021 finished his last race in March during Milan – San Remo.
