The 8th and final stage of PETRONAS Le Tour de Langkawi took place this Sunday, around the town of Bintulu. And after these final 147.5km of racing, it’s Matteo Malucelli who raised his arms. Already winner of two stages, the Italian of the training JCL Team UKYO raised his arms a third time in this edition.

As expected, this 8th stage was a sprint. Despite a huge amount of work from his team Tudor Pro Cycling, Arvid De Kleijn was beaten in the last 200 meters by Malucellisimply faster. The Russian Gleb Syritsa He went for 3rd place.

In the general ranking, no change to report… and so it is Max Poole who wins this 28th edition of the PETRONAS Le Tour de Langkawi. The first success on a general ranking for the young Briton from Team dsm-firmenich PostNL. Poole is accompanied on the final podium by the Italian Thomas Pesenti (JCL Team UKYO) and the Spanish Unai Iribar (Equipo Kern Pharma).
