Mountain biking. These three letters taken end to end are synonymous with great suffering for our federation. This 39th weekend of the year was dark for the FFL, and Victor Koretzky is mainly responsible.
Victor Koretzky does what he wants with us
Victor Koretzky was left with his arms raised in the air during the short race in Lake Placid. And now we find him for the XCO race in this same American site. The race begins, and the runners suffer a slew of punctures. Including a double bad luck for the Frenchman Mathis Azzaro. I promise, we have nothing to do with it. A sorting then takes place, and a small group of nine riders leads the race in the last lap. Of course, that devil Victor Koretzky is in there, and poses the threat of a possible double.
As the meters pass, tension grows between the runners, then as agreed, the decision is made in a sprint. The latter is launched, and the world champion is beaten on the line. As we jump for joy, we forget one detail; if Victor Koretzky wore the rainbow jersey the day before as short race world champion, it is the South African Alan Hatherly who owns it for the XCO race. It is therefore Koretzky who wins this race ahead of Hatherly. The backlash is horrible for us. Behind, Filippo Colombo only acts as an inspector with his third place.
