A cycle race in honour of Anthony Delaplace soon to be organised in the Cotentin

It was around Anthony Delaplace that the members of his fan club organized a meeting on September 17, 2024 to prepare for the Gentlemenin the premises of AS Tourlaville Cycling.

“As every year, the route will start from Ruffosses. This is a 20 kilometer loop to be covered as a duo “, says Patrick Laurent, president of the fan club of Anthony Delaplace, a professional cyclist with an impressive track record, who has notably participated in several Tours de France.

Looking for volunteers

Born in Valognes (Manche), Anthony Delaplace started out as a member of AST Cycling in his early years, a club with which he won his first major title, that of French junior champion in 2007.

Every year, the Gentlemen attracts around a hundred duos

Created by fervent supporters of Anthony Delaplace 15 years ago, the fan club that bears his name aims to “facilitate and organize travel to support him during his various competitions”. A fan club that counts more than fifty members.

This year, the organizers will also offer a raffle, with cycling outfits offered by the professional rider up for grabs.

“Beyond the simple cycle race, it is also a unique opportunity for the public, including many children, to meet their idol and chat with him“, continues Patrick Laurent.

The latter also launches acall for volunteers: “We still need a few signallers for the intersections, and one or more motorcyclists to open the road.”
