Russian air defenses shot down at least 71 Ukrainian drones over Russia overnight Monday into Tuesday, according to local authorities and the Russian state agency Tass.

In the Russian region of Bryansk, which borders Ukraine, “59 enemy unmanned aerial vehicles were intercepted and destroyed,” said Alexander Bogomaz, the regional governor. “There are no casualties and no damage,” he said on Telegram.

Flights suspended at Moscow airport

Ten Ukrainian drones were also shot down overnight in the Moscow region, the mayor of the Russian capital Sergei Sobyanin said on Telegram.

Due to the attack, three Moscow airports have again suspended departures and arrivals, according to their websites.

Two Ukrainian drones were also intercepted in the Tula region, south of Moscow, Russian state agency TASS reported. Russia announces almost daily that it has destroyed Ukrainian drones launched against its territory.

For its part, kyiv claimed responsibility for a strike on a Russian munitions depot in the border region of Voronezh on Saturday.
