For national security reasons, the Americans gave TikTok until Sunday to sell its activities to a US company.

However, according to The Information, TikTok is preparing to completely block its platform on Sunday in our southern neighbors to protest against this law aimed at preventing its downloading.

Still according to The Information, users would then be redirected to a message which would explain the new legal provisions to them.

Remember that last April, Congress forced TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance, to divest its activities by January 19.

Last month, TikTok turned to the Supreme Court to strike down the law.

Trudeau prudent

Eight months ago, when questioned by The Journal on the risks of espionage from the Chinese application, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau responded jokingly to this question.

“My children, I’m glad they have government phones because they no longer have TikTok,” he said.

“It’s a question of data security and the functioning of the government,” continued the head of state.
